The Matrice 400 is designed to operate in harsh conditions: it has an IP55 rating, making it resistant to dust and water splashes. It also operates effectively in a temperature range from −20 °C to +50 °C. These features make it a reliable choice for inspections in extreme or exposed environments.

Transmission, Detection, and Security

DJI has equipped the Matrice 400 with an O4 Enterprise transmission system, offering a range of up to 40 km in certain configurations and HD video transmission.

The drone is also equipped with a highly advanced obstacle detection system: a rotating LiDAR, a millimeter-wave radar, and low-light (fisheye) visual sensors that enable it to detect obstacles such as power lines, thin structures, or poorly lit areas.

Performance for photovoltaic and thermal inspection

During solar panel inspections, the Matrice 400, when used in conjunction with a high-resolution thermal camera, can detect anomalies (such as overheating or faulty connections) even in conditions of bright light or high heat.

Its precise positioning and high-power capabilities allow it to cover large areas while maintaining high image quality.

Inspection of engineering structures, critical infrastructure, and power lines

For infrastructure such as bridges, towers, and antennas, the Matrice 400 allows users to mount a high-zoom sensor or multiple sensors simultaneously to identify cracks, structural defects, or corrosion. The addition of integrated beacons and rangefinders also enables precise mapping of damage or high-risk areas.
